Award-winning actress Jessica Chastain is set to make her UK theatre debut this June, starring in a Frank McGuiness adaptation of Henrik Gibson’s A Doll’s House.

The forthcoming production is part of a new season directed by Jamie Lloyd at the Playhouse Theatre, London in association with British Airways, which began previews in November 2019 with Martin Crimp’s adaptation of Edmond Rostand’s Cyrano De Bergerac, starring James McAvoy.

The forthcoming production will be directed by Jamie Lloyd, whose credits include Betrayal, One for the Road, Macbeth, Evita and Assassins.

The three-act A Doll’s House was written by Henrik Gibson and first premiered in Copenhagen in December 1879.

The play follows Danish housewife Nora as she begins to examine and question her life of domesticity once her marriage is put to the test.
