Where to watch Scotland take on the World Cup this summer

Can’t make it to America this summer? Stay in Glasgow and still enjoy the big crowd experience for the 2026 FIFA World Cup at the OVO Hydro

There are World Cups you watch, and there are World Cups you feel. For Scotland fans in 2026, the latter is suddenly very much on the table. As Scotland head to North America for the 2026 FIFA World Cup under the watch of Steve Clarke – making the cut for the first time since 1998 – the national excitement is already looking a wee bit big for most local pubs to deal with.

Step forward the OVO Hydro. The Glasgow landmark is throwing open its doors this summer for a series of huge match-night events called Our Moment – giant screenings of Scotland’s World Cup fixtures that aim to turn the upcoming late-night kick-offs into something much more than just a flatscreen over a bar. Backed by the Scottish Football Association and wrapped in pre-match entertainment, the concept is simple: Scotland’s shot at glory deserves Scotland’s biggest arena.

Getting to the United States isn’t exactly a casual away day for most. Flights across the Atlantic in peak summer aren’t cheap, accommodation around tournament venues will be eye-watering, and taking weeks off work to follow the Tartan Army coast-to-coast isn’t realistic for most supporters. While plenty will make the pilgrimage, millions more will be watching from home soil as Scotland face Haiti, Morocco and Brazil.

And that’s where the Hydro comes in. Watching a World Cup match on your sofa has its charms – snacks, slippers, loos without queues – but it can’t replicate the moment when an entire arena detonates when the net ripples. Pubs get close, but they weren’t built for 14,000.

Inside the Hydro, though, the late kick-offs might actually become the magic ingredient. Midnight goals. 1am limbs. The kind of communal chaos that turns a screening into folklore. Organisers are pitching “Our Moment” as more than a watch party – it’s a home for supporters who want to experience the tournament together, creating memories in real time.

Scotland’s players will be chasing history across the Atlantic. But back in Glasgow, thousands of fans will be chasing the feeling that comes with it – louder, later and very possibly unforgettable.
