Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua: book your tickets to the biggest fight in UK boxing here
Tyson Fury takes on Anthony Joshua in what is the biggest British boxing match for decades. Here's how to get tickets for the fight on Friday 11 December
Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua. A showdown for the ages, one that has been mooted for many years and is finally coming to fruition. The long-running rivalry comes to a head on 11 December as ‘The Gypsy King’ Fury takes on former Olympic gold medallist Joshua at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.
The two former world heavyweight champions have finally come to an agreement to stare down, after many years of dodging one another due to various reasons such as timing and agreeing on both sides contractually. There’s no excuses come Friday 11 December in what is undoubtedly the biggest British boxing match for decades.
‘Why is the fight taking place in Cardiff?’, you might ask. A location for the fight proved to be a major stumbling block throughout negotiations, with Wembley Stadium and Madison Square Garden mentioned as potential venues. Cardiff’s Principality Stadium proved to be the choice location, with the venue’s 74,500 capacity and retractable roof (which will be closed for the winter boxing bout) being the ideal surrounds to host the epic fight.
Ring walks are current scheduled at 03:30 on Saturday morning, with no undercard yet announced. Cardiff will stage a full Friday-night programme before the main event too, with musical acts also in talks to perform before the main event.
It’s not currently confirmed if WBA world title belt – recent vacated by Oleksandr Usyk, who Fury and Joshua have both faced twice and lost each time – will be on the line either.
In the words of Saudi financier Turki Alalshikh, whose vast financial resources made this fight happen, “the time for talking is over.”
