Horse racing, baseball, live music and league finals — it's all happening this summer


As summer begins to show its face, it’s time to lather on the sun-cream and get out there to enjoy all of the sporting entertainment on offer. We’ve collated some of our favourite picks to help you plan away.

Live After Racing

When? 02 June – 10 Sep
Where? Various racecourses

Live After Racing is a summer-long schedule of horse racing and live music from big names including The Human League, McFly, James Bay, Paloma Faith, Kaiser Chiefs and more. Spread over the likes of Doncaster, Bath, Newcastle and Windsor, this is a nationwide festival so all the more chances for you to head down for a day of action.


Chestertons Polo in the Park Weekend

Where: Hurlingham Park, Fulham

After a two-year break, the equestrian festivities of Chesterton’s Polo In The Park return to West London as spring begins to bloom into summer. With a special fast-paced format, it makes one of the oldest team sports easier for both newcomers and devoted fans to enjoy. But it’s not just about the sport, oh no. Polo brings fashion, music, food and family together as a perfect way to see out the season.


Nitro Rallycross UK

When? 18 – 19 June
Where? Lydden Hill Race Circuit, Canterbury

The second season of Travis Pastrana’s Nitro Rallycross is coming to the birthplace of rallycross, Lydden Hill, this summer to kick of the 2022/23 Championship which will then travel to the likes of Sweden, Finland, Canada and Saudi Arabia. Watch out for the competition debut of the FC1-X: the most powerful vehicle in rallycross.


Birmingham Commonwealth Games

When? 28 July – 08 Aug
Where? Various locations, Birmingham

286 sessions across 19 sports (8 of which are para sports) spanning athletics, swimming, netball, gymnastics and more are coming to the city of Birmingham this summer for the much-awaited Commonwealth Games. There’ll also be the introduction of new sports including 3×3 wheelchair basketball and mixed synchronised swimming.


MLB Launches Home Run Derby X

MLB Home Run Derby X

When? 09 July
Where? Crystal Palace Park, London

London rapper AJ Tracey headlines a new hybrid event of live music and baseball, coming to Crystal Palace in July. Home Run Derby X is a new baseball format that sees teams of four go head-to-head in a bracket style competition, with points up for grabs on both offense and defense and additional scoring opportunities with target hits and hot streak balls.


Premiership Rugby Final

When? 18 June
Where? Twickenham Stadium, London

It’s all been leading to this. On 18 June the Gallagher Premiership will have its new champion, hosted at the mighty Twickenham stadium. Will Harlequins win for a second year in a row, or can Saracens, Leicester or Gloucester take the title?
