The last week has been huge in football. Crazy games and big talking points both on, and off the pitch.

In the Barclays Premier League, we were treated to an unbelievable clash between Sunderland and Crystal Palace. Sunderland fans have already seen their side go 4-0 down at home to Aston Villa, and again, the Stadium of Light was left stunned as Glenn Murray and a Yannick Bolasie put Crystal Palace in a comfortable position. Although Connor Wickham pulled a goal back for Sunderland, fans were left furious that even under new manager Dick Advocaat the old problems seem to still be there.

We saw a fantastic game when Leicester travelled to The Hawthorns. Despite West Brom taking the lead twice, a Jamie Vardy stoppage time strike gave The Foxes all three points.

In The Manchester Derby, despite Aguero scoring the opening goal, Manchester United put four goals past Manuel Pellegrini’s side. United moved four points clear of their City rivals after the emphatic win.

Oversea’s, PSG secured the Coupe de la Ligue title with a 4-0 over Bastia. Lyon and Monaco secured league wins, putting Lyon top of Ligue 1, just two points ahead of PSG having played one game more.

In Germany, Robert Lewandowski seems to be back to his best scoring one of the goals of the weekend in Munich’s 3-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt. Borussia Dortmund lost 3-1 away to Borussia Monchengladbach, with youngster Patrick Herrmann providing us with a Man of The Match performance. Cologne and Stuttgart managed 3-2 home wins, with Bayer Leverkusen wining by the same score line away to Mainz.

In Serie A, leader Juventus lost 1-0 away to Parma, who currently sit rock bottom. Lazio and Napoli managed convincing home wins against Empoli and Fiorentina respectively. Second place Lazio are just one point ahead of fierce rivals AS Roma, who currently sit comfortably in third.

La Liga provided us with some amazing moments this week. Cristiano Ronaldo scored his first free kick in 56 attempts for Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid fell further behind in the title race with a 2-2 draw away to Malaga. Barcelona only managed to gain one point at Sevilla. Celta Vigo scored an incredible six goals in their home win against Vallecano. Gonzalo ‘Chory’ Castro provided us with a Marco Van Basten style finish in Real Sociedad’s home draw against Deportivo. Haven’t seen the goal? Go watch it now!
