Or maybe you’ve been harbouring secret fantasies about being a cancelled evil villain in pop culture? Well with FAME*FACTORY London, here’s your chance to find out exactly what that feels like.

The new immersive experience at ExCeL London allows visitors to step into the glamorous and tumultuous world of celebrities, with 12 different personas that you can choose from to rise to the top. Meet your agent, sign a lucrative deal, take a private jet to Hollywood and live the dream – or perhaps a nightmare? The FAME*FACTORY experience isn’t just about blind sycophancy. As sure as there are highs, there are some interesting lows and – depending on your choice of profession – FAME*FACTORY doesn’t shy away from showing visitors all that fame comes with. If you’ve ever been curious about how celebrities weather the storm of negative publicity and rebrand to appeal to the hearts of an incensed, polarised public, you’ll see all that and more at FAME*FACTORY.

Choose your path to fame

What persona would you like to take on in your 60-minute session? At FAME*FACTORY you have a choice of 12: pop star, rapper or rockstar for the musically inclined. For the budding actors hoping to land a lucrative movie deal, you can choose to be either an action hero, evil villain or horror victim. The aspiring athletes can choose between being a racing driver or a footballer, and the social media savvy can opt for either the fashion influencer or the viral dancer route. And for groups of up to six, you can choose to go as a pop group or a rock band. The experience is suited for adults, and kids aged eight or above. Plus, if you’d like to get famous for your birthday (with a birthday crew), you can email the FAME*FACTORY team to receive a bespoke package fitting of your stardom.

You’re the star of the show

After you’ve chosen your persona (we went with a girlband for our visit), it’s a full-throttle thrust into fame. You begin at the airport lounge before departing London in a private jet on a direct (three-minute) flight to Hollywood. And if you thought in-flight refreshments in business class were anything to gawk at, the FAME*FACTORY private jet offers a chance to “purchase” a luxury villa or a Lamborghini, with a choice to pay with “cash” or “card”. So get the Amex out, this is your chance to flex your unlimited credit card in front of your nearest and dearest.

After your whirlwind flight, you land in Hollywood and immediately go from function to function. And exclusive photoshoot with a stylist, complete with glitzy (albeit a little kitschy) outfits; a meeting with your agent to sign an unbelievably profitable deal (nothing you ask you agent for is to grand); promotional video shoots; red carpet appearances; celebrity nightclubs – and maybe even a dalliance with a crisis manager after the paparazzi scoop you.

The FAME Awards Ceremony

Finally after the full famous treatment, hunker down at the FAME Awards where you can commune with fellow celebrities and enjoy drinks from the Entourage Bar. Here you have your chance to win, make an impassioned speech if you do, and you’re also able to purchase the finished photos and footage you’ve taken along your journey to stardom.
