Secret Cinema to return with Dirty Dancing in 2020

Secret Cinema will be transporting visitors back to the summer of 1963, as Secret Cinema Presents Dirty Dancing prepares to offer an immersive outdoor summer experience for two weeks starting on Wednesday 22 July 2020.
Taking to a top secret London location in the summer, Secret Cinema will once again reimagine the iconic Kellermans’ holiday resort, originally made famous by the 1987 film starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey.
Presented in partnership with legendary studio Lionsgate, the experience will allow fans to embark on a journey of self-discovery, mirroring that of Baby – portrayed in the film by Grey.
Set in an outdoor location, fans will enjoy live music, dance classes, and various other activities in line with the cult classic. Kellerman’s Resort will be brought to life, promising adventure, surprise, and an entire city dancing under the stars.
“Our outdoor experiences are a celebration of the summer, and this iconic movie epitomises and honors that perfectly,” says Creative Director, Lucy Ridley. “We’re delighted to return to this film and can’t wait to share the summer of ‘63 with you.”
Dirty Dancing was first released in the summer of 1987, following the tale of 17 year old Frances “Baby” Houseman as she holidays at Kellerman’s Resort with her family. Here she meets Johnny, one of the resort’s dance instructors.
Through this chance encounter, Baby learns more of her and her family’s place in society, and about friendship and love.
The film went on to win an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for its iconic musical number (I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life, plus nominations for Best Motion Picture, Best Performance by an Actor and an Actress at the Golden Globes in 1988.
The song also won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo.
Secret Cinema Presents Dirty Dancing will run for two weeks from Wednesday 22 July 2020 at a secret outdoor London location.
Secret Cinema are also currently presenting Stranger Things until the 23 February 2020, with remaining tickets available now.
