Dynamo announces first UK tour in a decade with Up Close and Magical

The magician's acclaimed live show heads on tour for 2027 following a celebrated residency in London

Dynamo is heading back on the road. Following a successful residency at London’s Underbelly Boulevard, the magician and broadcaster has announced his first UK tour in a decade, taking his acclaimed live production Up Close and Magical to audiences across the country in 2027.

An intimate show designed for audiences of all ages, Up Close and Magical draws on material from across Dynamo’s career, celebrating the sense of wonder that first made him a household name.

Of the upcoming tour, Dynamo – real name Steven Frayne – said: “Over the last few years I’ve fallen back in love with magic in a way I never thought possible. Performing this show reminded me why I started this journey in the first place, not for television or big stunts, but for those moments of wonder shared between people. That’s what Up Close and Magical is all about. After an incredible run in London, I’m excited to take the show across the UK in 2027 and share that feeling with audiences around the country.”

Since first appearing on our screens twenty years ago, Dynamo has become one of Britain’s most recognisable entertainers, growing Dynamo: Magician Impossible into a cultural phenomenon. His recent return to television has continued that momentum. Dynamo Is Dead became Sky’s biggest entertainment launch of 2024, followed by 2025’s Miracles.

Away from the screen, his achievements have included sold-out arena tours, bestselling books and recognition from some of the most respected organisations in magic. In 2015, he was named Magician of the Year by the Academy of Magical Arts, while The Magic Circle awarded him the prestigious Maskelyne Award for Performance.

Now Up Close and Magical pares it all back, giving audiences a chance to experience Dynamo’s work in the room, just a few feet away. In a career defined by huge, headline-making stunts, the new tour offers a unique chance for Dynamo fans to get close to the action.
