The Crystal Maze Live Experience is reaching its end at the five-star rated Islington site, set to move to Shaftesbury Avenue in the heart of London’s West End in the spring of 2019.

Fans are now offered their last chance to take part at the Islington site before the move, which sees The Crystal Maze Live Experience open its largest maze yet.

The Islington site opened in 2016 following a successful crowdfunding campaign, offering competitors a selection of mental, physical, skill and mystery challenges – in line with the original TV show. Each challenge takes place in one of four themed zones; Aztec, Future, Industrial and Medieval.

Moving to the London Trocadero on Shaftesbury Avenue and opening its doors on Friday 29 March 2019, the all new Crystal Maze Live Experience will house 32 new games, a new Maze Bar, and all-day opening hours and on-the-day ticket purchases.

The Maze will also offer games for those 13 years and over.

As artefacts begin to be moved to the Shaftesbury Avenue site, the Maze Masters have confirmed that the Islington site will remain open until 28 January 2019 due to phenomenal demand.

The new site continues the growth of the live experience, which has proved popular with locals and tourists alike. Welcoming over 300,000 visitors to the Islington site, competitors follow in the footsteps of the likes of Cara Delevigne, Skepta, the England Rugby team, Liam Gallagher, Jonathan Ross and Rio Ferdinand, all of whom have taken on the challenge.

The Islington site has seen groups claim around 225,000 crystals, with around 75,000 unfortunate competitors finding themselves “locked in”.

“The past few years has seen success beyond our wildest expectations and the culmination of this, is launching our new flagship venue on Shaftesbury Avenue,” says co-founder of Little Lion Entertainment Tom Lionetti-Maguie. “To be opening an attraction in the Trocadero, that I went to as a kid, feels like a dream… we believe this will set a new standard for entertainment in London and we can’t wait to show it off to people.”

The new experience, home at London Trocadero in the heart of the West End, will open on Friday 29 March 2019.
