Ticketmaster hosts the 2014 TechRadar Phone Awards
Last week, Ticketmaster was the host of the first ever TechRadar Phone Awards.
Guests from all areas of technology and journalism including Google, Sony, Nokia, Amazon, The Sun and the Metro quite literally descended upon our very own bar, The Imperial, as many of them opted to enter via the slide!
There they enjoyed a live acoustic set from Blacky of The Howling, as well as Hummingbird cupcakes and a Mexican fiesta of food, while they eagerly awaited the start of the awards – booze, beats and burritos all round.
TechRader’s Phones and Tablets editor Gareth Beavis and Editor-in-Chief Patrick Goss took on presenting duties and, with a little help from an indestructible Nokia 3310, kicked off the prize giving with a fastest texter contest.
Seeing off strong competition, the evening saw Apple, Spotify and Motorola amongst the winners with HTC taking home the coveted ‘Best Phone Award’.
With the winners crowned, the party continued with a DJ set from Chas of The Hounds while guests cut loose on the dancefloor and made full use of all The Imperial has to offer.
