The Wanted’s Tom Parker posthumously nominated for NTA

The late singer's acclaimed film is tipped for Best Authored Documentary at this year's award show

The Wanted’s Tom Parker has been posthumously nominated for a National Television Award for his documentary film Inside My Head.

Parker passed away in March at the age of just 33 after being diagnosed with a brain tumour. Before his death, Parker worked on the Channel 4 documentary which saw him discuss his diagnosis.

The documentary is now being nominated for Best Authored Documentary at the NTAs alongside Kate Garraway’s documentary Caring For Derek.

Inside My Head followed the singer’s battle with cancer and his reunion with fellow The Wanted members to host a fundraising concert in aid of cancer charities in 2021.

Parker was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour in 2020 and died just 18 months later.

After his death, it was revealed that Ed Sheeran had contributed financially to some of Parker’s medical expenses during his battle with cancer.
