The Hunger Games stage show is officially coming to London in 2025

Here are all the details about how to get tickets for The Hunger Games play when it opens in London this year

The long-awaited announcement has finally been made – The Hunger Games officially arrives in London this year. To clarify, we’re not talking about an actual battle royale. The much-hyped stage production based on Suzanne Collins’ best-selling novel will be lifting its curtain this October 2025 at the new Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre.

The play, which has been workshopped for over a year by the creative team, will use an in-the-round staging to create an immersive experience for the audience that promises to be “uniquely, thrillingly theatrical” according to director Matthew Dunster.

“We want to bring audiences something as impactful and edgy as Suzanne Collins’ novel and as passionate and exciting as the movie,” said Dunster. “But we are going to do it in our own way – in the theatre.”

The cast for the production has yet to be revealed. Joining Dunster on the creative team will be playwright Conor McPherson, who has adapted the story from Suzanne Collins’ 2008 novel.

“I’m thrilled that The Hunger Games is in the hands of gifted playwright Conor McPherson and accomplished director Matthew Dunster,” said Collins. “Connor has done a fantastic adaptation, which is quite unique from the screenplay. And Matthew’s immersive, dynamic staging gives the audience a brand-new way to experience the story.”

The Hunger Games is set in the post-apocalyptic nation of Panem in which each of the country’s twelve districts select two teenage tributes to compete in a televised fight to the death, with one victor remaining. The Games are broadcast for the viewing pleasure of the residents of the powerful Capitol. The novel follows 16-year-old Katniss who volunteers to enter the games in place of her younger sister.
