Watch The Chicks cover ‘Hopelessly Devoted To You’ in tribute to Olivia Newton-John
The country-pop group performed the track during a show at Washington’s Gorge Amphitheatre
The passing of Olivia Newton-John last week touched many in the music and theatre communities. Tributes poured in for the actress and singer, who launched hit tracks like ‘Physical’ up the charts and most famously starred as Sandy in the film version of the Broadway show Grease.
Among those wishing to pay their respects to Newton-John were The Chicks, who spoke on the impact the star had on them during a Washington show. “I thought I was Olivia Newton-John from like four until 12,” said Natalie Maines. “And then I just wished I was Olivia Newton-John. So we worked up today at soundcheck a little Olivia Newton-John song.”
