Taylor Swift to appear in David O. Russell’s new film Amsterdam
The singer joins a cast of big names for Russell’s 1930s murder mystery romp
David O. Russell’s Amsterdam was already a star-studded affair before one of the world’s biggest pop stars was thrown into the mix. With a cast including Christian Bale, Margo Robbie, John David Washington, Anya Taylor-Joy, Robert DeNiro and plenty more big names, Swift is in good company amongst fellow A-listers. The trailer for the film only shows Swift for a second, looking shocked in full 1930s get-up.
This is not Swift’s first foray into cinema. She has previously had roles in feature films such as Valentine’s Day and The Giver, and leant her voice to an animated character in The Lorax. More recently, Swift starred in 2019’s Cats as Bombalurina.
Swift has also written for many film soundtracks, having just released the track ‘Carolina’ for the Olivia Newman’s Where The Crawdads Sing, which premiers this month. No word yet on whether her character in Amsterdam will be musically inclined.
