SZA has officially beaten Adele’s record for longest time in the top 10
SZA’s SOS was first released in December 2022, and two and a half years later its popularity shows no sign of slowing down. This week, the album held out for its 85th week in the Billboard Top 10, officially beating out Adele’s 21 for the longest time spent in the top 10 by a female artist.
SZA goes on tour this summer with Kendrick Lamar. The two headliners are set to play shows in Glasgow, Birmingham and Cardiff, finishing their UK leg with four nights at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The record for longest time ever spent in the top 10 by any album is still held by the My Fair Lady soundtrack, which lasted 173 weeks in 1956. Morgan Wallen takes second place with 158 week is Morgan Wallen for his double album, Dangerous, released in 2023.
Whilst SOS might have beaten out 21 for this particular honour, Adele’s sophomore record still remains the best-selling album of the 21st century in the UK, and the best performing Billboard 200 album of all time.
