Simply Red announce Summer Funk ’27 UK tour
The 2027 run mixes historic amphitheatres and open-air venues with four decades of Simply Red favourites
Simply Red are heading back outdoors in summer 2027, with a new UK tour taking Mick Hucknall and the band to a string of special open-air venues. The run includes places they’ve never played before, among them London’s Gunnersbury Park and Halifax’s Piece Hall.
Summer Funk ’27 follows Simply Red’s 40th-anniversary tour in 2025, which stretched to almost 50 arena shows. Five sold-out nights at Santiago’s Movistar Arena became Holding Back the Years: 40 Years of Simply Red, Live in Santiago, released in June 2026.
Simply Red have kept the studio diary busy too. Recollections, released in November 2025, featured 40 newly recorded versions of songs from across their catalogue, while 2023’s Time remains their most recent studio album. Next comes a live take on the Four Tops’ ‘Reach Out I’ll Be There’, recorded during the 2025 tour and due on 24 September.
Four decades in, the numbers remain hefty: five UK No.1 albums, a UK No.1 single, nine further Top 10 hits and BRIT Awards for Best British Group in both 1992 and 1993. Stars also spent two consecutive years as Britain and Europe’s best-selling album. Summer Funk ’27 gives that catalogue a particularly handsome set of new surroundings.
