Paramore announce new album This Is Why and share title track
The trio's sixth album is set for release February 2023
Paramore have announced their new album This Is Why, which is set for release 10 February on Atlantic Records. Alongside the announcement comes the record’s lead single and title-track, watch the video directed by Turnstile’s Brendan Yates below.
This Is Why, their group’s sixth studio album, follows 2017’s After Laughter, which saw founding member and drummer Zac Farro rejoin Hayley Williams and guitarists Taylor York, who joined the band in 2007.
In a statement, Williams says of the song: “It summarizes the plethora of ridiculous emotions, the rollercoaster of being alive in 2022, having survived even just the last 3 or 4 years. You’d think after a global pandemic of fucking biblical proportions and the impending doom of a dying planet, that humans would have found it deep within themselves to be kinder or more empathetic or something.”
Paramore are heading on a US tour in October, with European and UK dates yet to be announced.
