Musical Con is coming: The UK’s first musical theatre convention hits London this October
Some of the West End’s biggest names are set to take part in the event
London musical theatre now has its own fan convention, with a brand new event opening its doors to lovers of all things West End. Musical Con will be hosted at ExCeL London and will run from Saturday 22 – Saturday 23 October.
Ambassadors for the weekend-long event include some of the West End’s biggest names: Aimie Atkinson, Kerry Ellis, Alice Fearn, Ben Forster, Jodie Steele, Trevor Dion Nicholas, Omari Douglas, Shanay Holmes, Jenna Russell and Layton Williams. A roster of special guests have also been announced, including West End supergroup SVN.
The weekend will be jam-packed with meet and greets, singalongs, cosplay contents, performances, discussion panels and even a musical theatre-themed café. There will be opportunities to participate in workshops and masterclasses and to get career advice from industry veterans. The convention will also be seeking and debuting the UK’s next musical theatre star.
“This is our chance to say thank you to everyone who has ever bought a ticket to see us in a show,” says ambassador Ben Forster. Fellow ambassador Layton Williams adds, “This is from us. For the fans. It’s a place you can come, be fabulous, be free, and be yourself.”
