The most-streamed song of all time has been revealed

Ed Sheeran was pipped to the post as the most-streamed song of all time has been revealed

The most-streamed song of all time has been revealed to mark the 70th birthday of the UK’s Official Singles Chart and you might be surprised about who nabbed themselves the top spot.

While Ed Sheeran certainly dominates the top 20, he just fell short of the streams required to trump singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi.

The Scottish hitmaker’s 2018 single ‘Someone You Loved’ has been crowned the most-streamed song of all time thanks to the 561 million streams it’s racked up across both audio and video streaming.

Unsurprisingly, Sheeran’s 2017 earworm ‘Shape Of You’ followed in the No.2 spot, while the first dance song of the decade ‘Perfect’ landed in No.3.

George Ezra’s ‘Shotgun’, Tones & I’s ‘Dance Monkey’, The Weeknd’s ‘Blinding Lights’, Justin Bieber’s ‘Despacito’, and Lady Gaga’s ‘Shallow’ all help make up the top 10.

While parents everywhere will shudder to see ‘Baby Shark’ land the No.8 spot.

Elsewhere on the list come hits from Lil Nas X, Drake, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, and Stormzy while karaoke classics like ‘Africa’ by Toto and ‘Wonderwall’ by Oasis also get a nod.

And as Christmas trees begin to pop up in homes across the country, seasonal bangers like Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ and Wham’s ‘Last Christmas’ will see their streaming figures surpass those that landed them in the top 50.
