Lewis Capaldi impersonated Harry Styles at a 1975 show

The singer treated the crowd to a cover of Taylor Swift’s ‘Love Story’


“Guest starring Harry Styles” read the screens at the 1975’s Newcastle show last night. Cue wild cheers from the crowd. Those cheers turned to laughter (and more cheering) when, instead of the One Direction alum, Lewis Capaldi stepped out onto the stage.

“I’m Harry Styles, it’s good to be here,” he joked. “I know what you’re thinking – he looks different.”

Rather than play any of his own tracks, such as ‘Someone You Loved’ or ‘Before You Go’, Capaldi opted to cover Taylor Swift’s mega-hit ‘Love Story’. He also played a cover of the 1975 track ‘Antichrist’, which the band has never performed live. Watch fan-captured footage below:
