Jack Dee is taking his favourite old jokes on tour

The deadpan master digs through 40 years of comic inspiration – with absolutely no new material promised

Jack Dee has found a suitably contrary way to celebrate 40 years in stand-up: a new tour with absolutely no new material.

Jack’s Joke Show sees Dee digging through the jokes, stories and anecdotes that caught his attention long before he became one of Britain’s most recognisable deadpan comics. The result is part comedy memoir, part rummage through the joke cupboard, tracing some of the influences that nudged him towards stand-up in the first place.

The show has already had a proper road test. Dee took Jack’s Joke Show to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe for seven performances at the Assembly Rooms in August.

The timing feels particularly neat. Dee is marking four decades since his first open-mic appearance at London’s Comedy Store, and heads to the London Palladium on 18 September for Jack Dee & Friends – 40 Years in Comedy, with proceeds going to St Christopher’s Hospice and North London Hospice.

Series 85 of BBC Radio 4’s I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue also began in June, and Dee will join Daisy May Cooper, Phil Wang, Lou Sanders and others for a four-part Last One Laughing Halloween special this October on Amazon. His most recent stand-up special, Small World, aired on Sky and NOW in December 2025.
