Post-hardcore idols Funeral For A Friend will headline a brand new one-day festival at Cardiff Castle in 2025: Rock The Castle.
Emos and moshers rejoice: Funeral For A Friend have been announced as the headliner for a brand new one-day event, Rock The Castle.
On Saturday 19 July 2025, the post-hardcore idols from Bridgend will top a bill of rock bands that are an exemplar for Wales’ rich musical heritage and uniquely spirited sense of community.
Unfolding in the stunning surrounds of Cardiff Castle, Funeral For A Friend set to rock the historic medieval landmark to its foundations with tracks like ‘Juneau’, ‘Roses For The Dead’, and ‘Streetcar’ from their lauded albums, Casually Dressed And Deep In Conversation and Hours. Despite not having released new material since 2015’s Chapter and Verse, the influential quintet have recently teased the prospect of new music, which they may very well unearth at Rock The Castle next summer.
Joining the headliners on the bill are The Blackout, Punk Rock Factory, and burgeoning talent in Casey, Dream State, and Kill The Lights, who round off a vibrant roster showcasing Welsh rock music’s roots as well as its promising future.
