Fatboy Slim, James and Amy Macdonald to headline Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival 2027
The first heavy-hitters are announced for next summer's Highland fling – returning to the Belladrum Estate in July 2027
Belladrum has found three very good reasons to head back to the Highlands next summer. Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival returns to the Belladrum Estate near Beauly from Thursday 29 to Saturday 31 July 2027, with James, Fatboy Slim and Amy Macdonald taking one headline night each.
First up are James on Thursday. Their appearance comes with a little unfinished Highland business attached: the band had been due to close Belladrum in 2026 before frontman Tim Booth lost his voice hours before the set, leaving Razorlight to step in. The return follows a strong recent run for James, whose 2024 album Yummy became their first studio LP to reach No.1 in the UK.
Friday belongs to Fatboy Slim, making his first Highland festival appearance in 14 years. Norman Cook arrives after another busy summer behind the decks, including a 2026 Camp Bestival takeover that put him at the top of a bill alongside De La Soul and Fat Tony. Expect plenty of mileage from ‘Praise You’, ‘The Rockafeller Skank’ and ‘Right Here, Right Now’ when he reaches Belladrum.
Amy Macdonald closes the festival on Saturday, with some neat timing of her own. Her Belladrum return lands exactly 20 years after her debut at the festival and one day after the 20th anniversary of This Is The Life. Her sixth album, Is This What You’ve Been Waiting For?, arrived in 2025 and reached No.8 on the UK Albums Chart, as well as No.1 on the Scottish Albums Chart.
Belladrum itself has grown considerably since launching in 2004. The festival now operates around a 25,000-person daily capacity, with music sharing the estate with arts, workshops and family programming.
