Download Festival announces three first-time headliners

The festival reveals a mammoth line-up of over 90 rock and metal bands, including three brand new headliners

Download Festival returns for 2025 with an enormous line up including some of the biggest names in rock, metal, punk and emo. Sitting at the top of the bill are three bands headlining the festival for the very first time: Green Day, Sleep Token and Korn.

37 years into an incredible career, Green Day are making their long-awaited debut at the festival on the Friday, fresh off anniversary celebrations for trailblazing albums Dookie (30 years) and American Idiot (20 years). Masked alternative rock collective Sleep Token, busy playing to arenas of fans this month, will take to the stage on the Saturday night. Closing out on the Sunday will be nu-metal juggernauts Korn, who have been inspiring some of the biggest names in the genre for over three decades.

Announced alongside them are over 90 other UK and international acts including Weezer, Sex Pistols featuring Frank Carter, Jimmy Eat World, Within Temptation, Eagles Of Death Metal, The Darkness, Poppy, Loathe, Spiritbox, Meshuggah, Steel Panther, Lorna Shore, Airbourne, Jerry Cantrell, Cradle Of Filth, Alien Ant Farm, CKY, McFly, Don Broco, Mallory Knox, The Ghost Inside, Turbonegro, Sylosis, Whitechapel, Fit For An Autopsy, Kittie and Jinjer.

“Following on from last year’s sold out 21st edition, Download’s legacy not only includes the incredible artists who have performed at the hallowed grounds over the years, but also our unrivalled community, safe and warm atmosphere, and fantastic afterhours entertainment at District X, with something for truly everyone,” says Download Festival’s Andy Copping.
