Dolly Parton launches a line of dog accessories
The new brand will of course be named Doggy Parton, because anything else would be ridiculous
This Wednesday, Dolly Parton announced on Instagram that she had officially launched her pet apparel and accessories line. Doggy Parton (get it?) will stock accessories for stylish dogs, many inspired by the singer herself. Products include gingham outfits, cowboy hats and a blonde wig that resembles Parton’s own hair.
Parton also announced on Instagram that a portion of the proceeds from the line will go to rescue organisation Willa B Farms, which rehabilitates homeless, neglected, abused and abandoned animals in Parton’s native Tennessee.
“‘Puppy Love’ was my very first record and 6 decades later, my love for pets is stronger than ever,” said Parton in a statement. “This inspired me to start my own line of Doggy Parton apparel, accessories, toys and more with a little ‘Dolly’ flair. Part of the proceeds will support Willa B Farms, a rescue where animals in need find never-ending love. Don’t we all need that?”
Parton is also busy gearing up to premier another one of her latest ventures in the UK. Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Christmas Carol, a retelling of Charles Dickens’ classic story with music and lyrics by Parton herself, comes to London’s Southbank Centre this festive season for a limited one-month run.
