Damien Rice reveals UK dates for 25th anniversary tour of his seminal debut album, O

Damien Rice has announced 2027 dates in London and Manchester to celebrate 25 years of his beloved breakthrough record

Damien Rice has announced his return to the album that made his career, with a run of UK shows celebrating the 25th anniversary of his lauded debut, O.

The Irish singer-songwriter will revisit his timeless songs like ‘The Blower’s Daughter’ and ‘Cannonball’ throughout a handful of dates in both London and Manchester in 2027. Rice will play two shows in London, firstly at Lyceum Theatre on 19 April and then London Palladium the day after on 20 April. The tour will then take him to Manchester where he’ll play two dates at the Opera House on 23 and 24 April.

These dates make up only a small part of the 25th anniversary, which will see Rice embark on a global tour – throughout Australia and Asia, North and South America, as well as Europe – comprised of 25 dates mirroring the album’s years in existence.

Garnering critical acclaim upon its initial 2002 release, the confessional songwriting and stripped-back nature of Rice’s debut album became a touchstone for the wave of introspective singer-songwriters that followed throughout the 2000s.

The enigmatic Irish artist has remained a constant presence stage around the world, despite not having released a studio record since 2014’s My Favourite Faded Fantasy. He’s the kind of artist that writes music when he feels he needs to, not when it’s expected by outside parties. Precisely why the songs of O remain so dear.

How to get tickets to Damien Rice’s 25th anniversary tour for O
