Caroline Polachek shares song for new Kurt Cobain opera
The aria was written for Last Days, Oliver Leith's operatic adaptation of Gus Van Sant’s Cobain biopic
Caroline Polachek has shared ‘Non Voglio Mai Vedere Il Sole Tramontare’ (I Never Want To See The Sun Go Down), an aria written for Last Days, Oliver Leith’s adaptation of Gus Van Sant’s 2005 Kurt Cobain biopic of the same name.
The song is was composed by Leith and produced by Polachek’s long-time collaborator Danny L Harle, and reveals the vast scope of the singer’s voice. Listen to the track below.
Last Days is running at London’s Linbury Theatre until tonight, 11 October, and has been called “Bleak and beautiful” by The Guardian and “Exemplary” by the Evening Standard.
The alt. pop performer released her debut album Pang in 2019, and has since followed it with a string of singles and collaborations, including ‘Sirens’ with Flume and ‘New Shapes’ with Charli XCX and Christine and the Queens.
