BTS announce a new world tour and album

The K-pop boyband have reunited and are teasing new music

K-pop group BTS disbanded temporarily in 2022, with some of the members departing to complete their mandatory military service. Now, all seven members have reunited and are looking ahead to a return to music in 2026.

On a WeVerse livestream, the band confirmed that they would be returning with new music and aiming for a spring release date for the album. They also confirmed that the album would be accompanied by a world tour. The livestream was the first time that the seven members have been seen onscreen together since their hiatus.

This news comes shortly after the announcement that the group would be releasing their first ever live album later this month, which will contain numbers from their enormous Permission To Dance Onstage tour that took place in 2021 and 2022.

Since the group went on hiatus, individual members of the group have explored solo projects, but this will mark the first new music they’ve released as BTS since their 2023 single ‘Take Two’.

The group said: “We’ll be releasing a new BTS album in the spring of next year. Starting in July, all seven of us will begin working closely together on new music. Since it will be a group album, it will reflect each member’s thoughts and ideas. We’re approaching the album with the same mindset we had when we first started.”

Speaking about the upcoming tour, they continued: “We’re also planning a world tour alongside the new album. We’ll be visiting fans all around the world, so we hope you’re as excited as we are.”
