Billie Eilish makes acting debut in Donald Glover’s Swarm

The pop superstar cameos as a creepy cult leader in Glover's characteristically dark and comedic thriller

Billie Eilish has made her acting debut on an episode of Swarm, the new thriller series from Donald Glover (Childish Gambino) and playwright Janine Nabers released today (17 March) on Prime Video. The ‘Happier Than Ever’ singer plays a cult leader and appears in Episode 4. Watch the teaser, which surprised fans the day before the show’s release, below.

Swarm takes aim at celebrity culture and particularly fan- or stan-dom, centred around a Beyoncé-like superstar, and has been dubbed “Beyond twisted” by Rolling Stone. The series is set in the same universe as Atlanta, Glover’s critically acclaimed satire. The show stars Dominique Fishback as protagonist Dre, while Chloe Bailey plays her sister.

Eilish was seen attending the show’s premiere earlier this week at SXSW festival in Austin, Texas.
