Ticketmaster New Music is a carefully curated selection, showcasing artists we are expecting to make waves in the live music scene. Working closely with record labels, live event promoters and talent agents, our in-house experts handpick the most exciting emerging music.

Over the past 40 years, independent labels have played a huge part in showcasing some of the most interesting and innovative pop music. Whether it be Factory, Creation, Rough Trade, Domino or XL, some of the country’s biggest artists have found refuge in the safe haven indies often provide, finding themselves able to creatively express themselves without restriction.

Undoubtedly, Dirty Hit lay claim to being one of the defining alt-pop music label of the moment. With the likes of festival headliners The 1975, grunge-infused rising star beabadoobee, dream-pop pioneers The Japanese House and Pale Waves, and the experimental Rina Sawayama on their roster, it’s no surprise that many turn to Dirty Hit looking for the next big thing. Enter West London R&B alt-pop maker AMA.

The musician’s latest EP PIXELHEART presents six luscious new tracks that ooze class from the get-go. The follow-up to her 2019 debut EP Screenluv, which earned praise from NME and i-D<, the release blends together all of AMA’s influences, beautifully carved up and presented for the world to enjoy.

Lead single Hour We On, – an immediate stand-out moment – offers a contemporary spin on the golden era of London garage, produced by Haim and Dillon Francis collaborator Jim E-Stack.

Other EP highlights include the bouncy, soundtrack ready Steppin’, and Rush, which sees AMA team up with the Los Angeles based Major Lazor, Diplo and Madonna collaborator Santell.

On the themes that make up the new release, AMA explains that it looks at love from a Gen Z perspective, adding: “The PIXELHEART EP really just captures a lot of the emotions I have felt throughout my teens, the ups and downs going on in my pixelated heart.”

AMA expresses this through an intoxicating blend of old and new, across six short, sharp tracks inviting influences from a range of styles to create something all her own. Driven by drum-heavy melodies and her soulful vocals, PIXELHEART is set to further boost an already promising career.
