Having released the thunderous Brother at the end of September, following the release of their debut full-length Welcome to Silvertown earlier this year, London based four-piece Saint Agnes are currently rounding off their headline UK tour which, among other dates, sees them take to Dingwalls in England’s capital.

Brother, a scuzz-laden slice of gritty rock and roll, has seen the band praised by the likes of Kerrang!, The Independent and BBC 6 Music, the release of which continues a year which has seen the four piece take to Isle of Wight Festival, Camden Rocks, The Great Escape, Standon Calling and more.

The video for their latest single, filmed on a night vision camera and depicting an ominous world of murderous creatures, showcases the band’s creativity – self-directed and edited.

It sets the scene for their forthcoming The Family Strange EP, due in the new year. “This is a home recording of a night in with my family,” says vocalist and guitarist Kitty A. Austen. “Me, my twin sister, my big brother and my homicidal pet rabbit. We are The Family Strange. Welcome to the family.”

As they continue their live run, performing material from Welcome to Silvertown and showcasing things to come with The Family Strange, Saint Agnes offer an insight into their life on the road, selecting a handful of tracks that soundtrack their tour.

The Prodigy feat. Ho99o9 – Fight Fire With Fire
“A classic Prodigy banger with insane vocals from Ho99o9. It gets us all pretty excited in the van when we start a tour – it’s a windows-down, fist-pumping, 3 minutes of glory.”

Blue Oyster Cult – (Don’t Fear) The Reaper
“This is our travelling song. It has a bit of magic about it, whenever we put it on it’s always somehow the most perfect moment for it. It’s one of those songs where everyone has a little smile at each other when it comes on and you suddenly feel like you’re in the exact spot where you’re meant to be, you’re miles from home but somehow also more at home than ever.”

Rico Nasty – Rage
“Rico Nasty has the coolest voice, it’s got so much attack and character and this song is her at her most aggressive. It hits so, so hard, it’s incredible. We listen to this one pre-show, it’s a guaranteed way to get us in the right mood for stage.”

Soeur – Don’t
“Soeur are on tour with us at the moment and this is one of our favourite live songs of theirs. Their new EP is great, so it’s on repeat in the van. It’s really cool hearing the record and then getting to hear it live a bunch of times, it’s inspiring.”

The Kills – Goodnight Bad Morning
“This is our hangover song. When we’re all sleepy in the van after a big night and we’ve got a long drive, the sweetness of this song works perfectly. It’s almost worth the hangover.”
