Tour Bus Playlist: GoldFish’s essential tracks
The electronic duo pick out their favourite tracks ahead of their forthcoming huge London show.
Formed in Cape Town, South Africa, dynamic dance duo Dominic Peters and David Poole – AKA GoldFish – fuse their house, pop, jazz and African influences to create their own take on on the house music genre.
The two jazz musicians, who met whilst studying at college, released their debut album Caught In The Loop in 2006, with the release earning them support slots with artists such as Fat Boy Slim, Basement Jaxx and Faithless.
Since their debut, the band have gone onto release six more studio albums including their most recent effort 2017’s critically lauded Late Night People, which features the streaming hit Hold Your Kite.
The musicians have spent most of the past decade traversing the globe, performing to massive crowds at festivals such as Ultra, SXSW and Glastonbury.
The duo are currently preparing for a one-off London show at Printworks on Friday 7 February 2020, in what will be their biggest ever live show on these shores.
Ahead of the date, GoldFish pick out some of their favourite tunes to drop into their sets whilst touring the world.
Dub Dogz – Techno Prank
“These Brazilians are making tons of dance floor bombs! We are working on a collab which should be another bomb. Hopefully, we can debut it at our Printworks show in February”.
Klingande and GoldFish – Simple Man
“This is our latest release and has been rocking GoldFish and Klingande shows all over the world this Summer and it’s finally out! Klingande provided us with the verse vocal and we jumped on it to create this track as we felt it was time he had another smashing saxophone song. We generally go for a more gritty saxophone sound than what Klingande has used in the past and this is no exception.
“Dominic managed to harness the soulfulness of the vocal with his epic piano chord riff and all the additional gospel choir samples he dug up over many hours sifting through hundreds of vocals to find the right words to match up with the original vocal. Some of the gospel words just sound right but are actually different words. Another interesting fact is Dave’s wife and kids – Bridgette, Zoë and Sebastian – are on choir duty towards the end of the track.”

Time – Bird
“Time is an incredibly underrated producer who is sure to explode at some point. This track features samples from the legendary 1940s bebop saxophonist Charlie Parker, whose nickname was Bird. We have been playing this song for a while at shows most notably we opened with it during our first ever set at Burning Man 2019 on the Root Society stage, the scene of Flumes viral photo a few days later.”
Cat Dealers, Lothief – Sunshine
“Just a happy tune to help the grey London weather not seem so bad. We met Cat Dealers a few years back at this incredible club in Brazil called Laroc. We just performed there again earlier this year and recorded the entire set which we should be releasing soon. It should be a cracker”.
Paul Simon – Homeless (Joris Voorn Remix)
“Joris seldom disappoints. With this remix of the classic Paul Simon record, he brings Homeless into the future with his signature deep sound”.

Monolink – Father Ocean (Ben Bohmer Remix)
“Monolink is just doing great stuff and then add in Ben Bohmer on remix duties and you have beautifully deep groover. This track isn’t something we would play live but we definitely listen to it a bunch and have it in our DeepFish playlist for this reason”.
