The 11 best Jamie T songs

Jamie T's back on tour this winter, with dates throughout December. Here's what we want on the setlist

Fresh from a surprise slot at this year’s Reading Festival where he aired new material and old classics, everyone’s favourite British troubadour, Jamie T, is heading back on tour this winter.

Having scored multiple platinum and gold albums as well as over 800 million global streams across a two-decade career, the Wimbledon artist will have no shortage of bangers to pick from – especially as fans will have had two months to soak up his sixth album, Ghosts (100 Days of Morning), which is out on 9 October.

Here, we look at his 11 best songs.

11. ‘3310’

(2026, Ghosts (100 Days of Morning))

Jamie T returned to where he feels most at home in the summer of 2026: the stage. Following an electrifying, secret sold-out performance at Scala – his first show at the iconic London venue in 20 years – he opened Reading Festival with a glimpse of what’s to come from his new record. Its nostalgic opening song and lead single, ‘3310’, is Jamie T at his best: a spirited guitar-driven tale that turns getting drunk on snakebite into lyrical poetry.

10. ‘Emily’s Heart’

Jamie T - Emily's Heart

(2009, Kings & Queens)

The stripped-back ‘Emily’s Heart’ – a highlight from his second album Kings & Queens – finds Jamie T at his most raw and vulnerable. Pairing melancholic storytelling with acoustic guitar strings and what sounds like the crackles of a fire, it showcased a softer side of his artistry. The tear-jerker is sure to become a lighters-in-the-air moment when played during his December tour.

9. ‘90s Cars’

(2022, The Theory Of Whatever)

Despite having been away for six years prior, Jamie T’s fifth and most recent LP, The Theory Of Whatever, became his first record to top the UK Albums chart. The first song on it, the dreamy ‘90s Cars’, demonstrated a real evolution of his sound, while once again showcasing his rapping ability.

8. ‘Hippodrome’

(2023, single)

Released ahead of his massive homecoming show at Finsbury Park in the summer of 2023, the soul-bearing ‘Hippodrome’ harked back to his early classics. Full of emotion, and telling the story of a wild night in his youth, it sounded huge when a crowd of 40,000 sang it back to their humble hero.

7. ‘Lights Burn Dimmer’ (with Fred again..)

(2026, USB)

Introducing his music to an entirely different audience, Jamie T’s choice to collaborate with one of the biggest names in electronic music, Fred again.., was not only incredibly clever but the perfect match. Bathing the melancholic hook and chorus of ‘Hippodrome’ in reverb and synths, the tension builds and twists in this gradually euphoric reimagining.

6. ‘The Old Style Raiders’

(2022, The Theory Of Whatever)

For a song as anthemic as this, it’s surprising Jamie T once completely forgot that he wrote it. Thankfully, he found the demo while sorting through files on an old computer and took it into the studio with Hugo White (formerly of The Maccabees) to finish production. The end result served as his first new music in more than half a decade, marking his much-welcome return to the music scene.

5. ‘Chaka Demus’

Jamie T - Chaka Demus

(2009, Kings & Queens)

Aside from being able to pen countless catchy hooks and choruses, Jamie T’s music videos are equally deserving of recognition. Who can forget the one that accompanied the reggae-tinged ‘Chaka Demus’? Mimicking the chaotic style of the 1981 comedy film The Cannonball Run, the video – which must have been extremely fun to film – sees Jamie singing from the back seat of a speeding car holding a large suitcase while bizarre characters chase after him.

4. ‘Zombie’

(2014, Carry On The Grudge)

Despite starting out as uncharacteristically stripped-back – a raspy Jamie T over acoustic guitar strings – ‘Zombie’ soon rattles into his signature indie-rock mode, unleashing cleverly-written reflections of teenage romance over world-building samples.

3. ‘If You Got The Money’

Jamie T - If You Got The Money (Official Video)

(2007, Panic Prevention)

Several months after it was released as the second single from his debut album, Panic Prevention, The Guardian hailed Jamie T as an “extraordinary young troubadour who everyone stops for”. High praise indeed, and rightfully so: the low-budget hedonism of absolute banger ‘If You Got The Money’ made him a relatable British icon.

2. ‘Sticks ‘N’ Stones’

Jamie T - Sticks 'n' Stones

(2009, Kings & Queens)

One of Jamie T’s biggest hits, ‘Sticks ‘N’ Stones’ was not only the runaway highlight of his second album but inescapable on dancefloors at indie club nights during the late 2000s. Prepare for beers and bodies to fly overhead when he unleashes this timeless rocket at his upcoming shows.

1. ‘Sheila’

Jamie T - Sheila (2007 Official Video)

(2007, Panic Prevention)

The first song that introduced the world to Jamie T, his breakout hit marked the arrival of a singular talent. Despite ‘Sheila’s dark subtext, he manages to turn the gritty topics of addiction, heartbreak and tragedy into something incredibly compelling and strangely anthemic. In the decades since, it has remained a British anthem for the skinny jeans generation.
