Jack Black and Kyle Gass be bringing two nights of Tenacious D to London in June 2019, adding a show at London’s SSE Arena Wembley on Saturday 1 June 2019. The self-proclaimed Greatest Band in the World are already set to play the same venue the following night.

Black and Gass first started playing together in Kyle’s studio apartment on Cochran Ave in Los Angeles. But no one could have ever dreamed of where their genius would take them.

In 1999, the duo’s HBO variety series first aired, with a self-titled debut album – which was quickly certified gold (and since certified platinum) – following in 2001. By 2006, Tenacious D has completed their first feature film together, Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny for New Line Cinema, while a second album, Rize of the Fenix, was released in 2012.

Known for their comedy lyrics and satirical style, Tenacious D’s hits include Wonderboy and Tribute.

In 2013, Black and Gass founded and hosted Festival Supreme, a music and comedy festival in Los Angeles. In its first four years, Festival Supreme boasted acts such as Adam Sandler, Sarah Silverman, Flight of the Conchords, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Patton Oswalt, Die Antwoord, Amy Poehler, Workaholics and many more.

Outside of the band, both Black and Gass are celebrated actors. Black’s numerous movie roles include School of Rock, King Kong, Shallow Hal, the Kung Fu Panda franchise and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. Gass’ roles include appearances on shows such as Seinfeld, Friends and Brooklyn Nine Nine.

You can see Tenacious D live at The SSE Arena, Wembley, on 1 – 2 June 2019.
