Seven nu-metal anthems you can see live this May

Nu-metal is having a moment this month, so Metal Blogmaster, Dan Hudson, is stepping up to guide us through the gigs we can’t miss in May.

With so many late nineties to early noughties bands doing the round next month, we’ve officially declared May 2015 the month of nu-metal.

We’ve got Hoobastank, P.O.D and Alien Ant Farm on the same bill, Coal Chamber, Soiland Dope playing together AND if that wasn’t enough, InMe are doing a mammoth UK tour.

If you’re lucky you should be able to catch ALL of the below live in May!

Coal Chamber, Sway
A down-tuned, beefed-up version of a 1980s hip-hop classic? Yes please.

P.O.D, Youth of the Nation
I’m completely unashamed to say that P.O.D are one of the best bands I’ve ever seen live. This track about a high-school massacre is the standout from their breakthrough album, Satellite.

Hoobastank, Crawling in the Dark
Sure, The Reason is a much bigger tune and I’m sure it’s amazing live if you’ve gone to see Hoobastank with your other half. But if you’re in the pit with your mates or on your own, and you just want to party like it’s 2001, this banger is EXACTLY what you’re after.

Soil, Halo
Often played next to Drowning Pool’s Bodies in rock clubs the world over, this dance floor anthem will no doubt come into its own live.

Dope, No Chance
Amazing cover of WWE owner Vince McMahon’s entrance music, from the WWE Forceably Entry soundtrack.

InMe, Overdose
Still going strong, this simple riff promises to explode in every venue this May. Believe.

Alien Ant Farm, Smooth Criminal
Yes, I know it’s not technically a nu-metal track, but it is from the same era and I couldn’t leave it out!

P.O.D, Alien Ant Farm and Hoobastank are on tour from 7 May, get tickets here. For Coal Chamber, and Soil and Dope tickets, head here and get InMe tickets here.
