Kasabian’s Serge Pizzorno, AKA The S.L.P., heads out on his first-ever UK solo tour this week.

The tour kicks off in Glasgow on 5 September 2019, before heading to Manchester, Birmingham and London for two shows at EartH in Hackney.

The run of dates is in support of the musician’s debut solo album The S.L.P, released on 30 August 2019 via Columbia Records.

The release has received critical praise, with NME describing it as a “stylish and streetwise mash-up of genres”, in a 4-star review.

The album was recorded and produced by Serge at his Leicester studio and sees the musician experiment with new sounds, influences and genres such as hip-hop, funk and jazz.

Serge has released three singles from the project so far, Favourites, which features North London rapper Little Simz, Nobody Else and latest release ((trance)).

Commenting on the project, Serge states: “Moving forward, I’d like to collaborate more and open that door more. The S.L.P. project will become this sort of place I can go and just do whatever. It’s so important to have that,” adding, “My life in the band and my boys, that’s part of me that will be there forever, but then there’s something else I have to get that out or I won’t be able to move forward”.

The musician first came to prominence as the guitarist and lead songwriter of the chart-topping rock band Kasabian.

Kasabian have released six studios albums in their career so far, five of which have topped the Official UK Albums Chart.

Some of the band’s best-known hits include Fire, Cut Off, Shoot the Runner and Eez-eh.

Serge will bring his new The S.L.P. project to life when he hits the road this month.
