Mexican acoustic rock guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela have announced details of a forthcoming UK tour.

The newly announced dates kick off in Liverpool on Sunday 22 September 2019 before heading to Bath, Gateshead, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham and London.

Last Friday the duo released their brand new fifth studio album Mettavolution.

Three years in the making, the record is Rodrigo y Gabriela’s first release in five years. The concept of the album was conceived in their studio in Ixtapa on the Mexican Pacific Coast, before being road tested on tour across the US, South America and Australia.

After fine tuning which songs would make the cut, Rodrigo y Gabriela travelled to Los Angeles to record with producer David Sardy, who has also worked with artists such as Oasis, LCD Soundsystem, A Perfect Circle and Fall Out Boy.

Alongside the six original tracks recorded for the album, the LP also includes a cover of the classic Pink Floyd track Echoes.

The pair recently shared a black and white performance video for the track Terracentric, taken from the new record. Watch the visuals below:

A hugely popular live act, the Mexican’s recently performed two nights at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and in the UK have sold out shows at venues such as The Roundhouse and the Royal Albert Hall.
