Preview: Here’s what to expect at Party in the Parc 2016

The all-singing, all-dancing Party in the Parc is back and bigger than ever. The festivities kick off in Coopers Field, Bute Park, Cardiff in just two weeks!

So you have a few days to get your act together and get tickets, don’t hang about though as this is not one to miss out on. Here’s what you need to know:

What’s Party in the Parc then?

Party in the Parc is a one-day celebration of music, amusement and culture taking place on Friday 12 August. The new event is in association with Pride Cymru – a charity who are working for the elimination of discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation, gender, race or religion. What better way to raise money and awareness for a great cause than by hosting a festival in the Welsh capital?

Who’s Playing?

The headline slot is filled by electro-pop trendsetters Years & Years. This is hugely exciting as there is no denying the band’s ability to produce great pop songs, but the trio have been acquiring more and more fans from their live performances and have really established themselves as A-class performers who put on a sensational show.

Years & Years are particularly passionate about pride within the LGBT community. Olly Alexander – the band’s frontman – has recently said, “Pride continues to be a vitally important day for the LGBT community and our allies, especially in the light of recent events.” It’s certainly an important topic and Party in the Parc are doing great things to give support and spread awareness in the most fun way possible… a music festival. Olly, who grew up in Wales, said he can’t wait to get on stage and celebrate with everyone in Cardiff.

Rising star Izzy Bizu is also in attendance. This is an excellent opportunity to see the South West Londoner, as her career is likely to sky rocket after the release of her debut album in September. She too puts on a great live show and has turned many heads on the festival circuit so far.

Maribou State, Nimmo and Jax Jones will be getting the crowd going earlier on in the day. It’s a stacked line-up that will no doubt have you singing and dancing along throughout.

There is so much more to the day than just the music including VIP experiences, an on-site fun fare and even a bungee jump!

So get your skates on and grab tickets for Party In The Parc now while you still can.
