First play: SKIES share mesmerising new video for Hold On

There’s something so refreshing about SKIES’ sound that we couldn’t wait to share their new video for Hold On with you.

Set for release on 15 July, the synth-led track combines the most charming elements of rock and pop to create a sound that builds from harmony into something truly mesmerising.

Hailing from Folkstone, duo Alie Cotter and Jericho Tozer have written Hold On to illustrate the theme of mortality.

Vocalist and guitarist Alie explains, “Hold On is a song about being mortal, and wondering why we are. It’s something that I’m really intrigued about, these rules we have to live by, and no one knows exactly why. I just wanted to explore it a bit – the song itself came together really naturally, it was one of those moments where it all fell in place.”

It’s no surprise that the two-piece have found fans in BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens, amongst many other music influencers.
