Our weekly round up of this week's biggest new tours, shows and events.
Earlier this year, Benson, Minnesota based trio Tiny Moving Parts unveiled their fourth studio album Swell, available through Big Scary Monsters in the UK and Europe. Led by Dylan Mattheisen on vocals and guitar, the album has garnered the band further critical acclaim for their contemporary emo sound, honed on their previous three albums This Couch Is Long & Full Of Friendship, Pleasant Living, and 2016’s Celebrate.
To date, Swell has spawned three singles, revealing lead track Caution back towards the end of 2017, and dropping Applause and Warm Hand Splash in the run up to the release. Alongside the album’s remaining seven tracks, the three singles see Tiny Moving Parts embrace positivity in the face of adversity; the album itself wearing its message on its cover. A heavily injured hand rocks the “surf’s up” gesture, fighting against any negativity in the situation.
As Tiny Moving Parts prepare to reach the UK for live dates in April 2018, we asked Dylan, and siblings William and Matthew Chevalier (drums and bass guitar respectively) for their go-to positive tunes. Here’s what they fired back.

“It’s a hit! Makes you wanna dance the night away!”

“Carly Rae’s got a great vibe. You always want to turn this one up!”
