We're taking you inside the homes of some of our favourite stars to raise money for vital charities.
Comprising ex-Panic! at the Disco bassist/songwriter Dallon Weekes and ex-Falling in Reverse drummer Ryan Seaman, I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME sent shockwaves throughout the alternative rock scene in late 2016 when after years of secretly writing songs together, the band made their live debut with a secret set at the legendary Emo Nite clubnight in Los Angeles.
Eight months later, with little prior warning, the band announced themselves to the wider world with the release of their debut single Modern Day Cain.
Since then, iDKHOW have continued to release music with regularity, with Spotify spins hitting the tens of millions.
Their latest video Social Climb dropped earlier this month, with visuals directed by Yo Gabba Gabba! creator Christian Jacobs.
The track “is about my experiences living in L.A. for almost a decade, orbiting this world of celebrity and money”, comments Dallon. “The parties that must be attended, the behaviour that must be adopted, and just not feeling part of that sphere. It’s what it feels like to be alone in a crowded room”.
After a small run of sold out headline dates earlier this year, frenzied UK fans got the news they were waiting for when iDKHOW announced that they’ll be making their return to these shores with a special London headline gig, alongside main stage appearances at the Reading and Leeds Festivals this August.
Ahead of the shows, we asked Dallon Weekes to make a playlist of tunes that get them amped to hit the stage and tell us a bit about them.
Will Butler – Anna
“I usually put this on my pre-show playlist. It crescendos in this really great way to this insane piano bit at the end. It’s a great track to get warmed up to”.
Elastica – Connection
“A killer ’90s jam that has this huge chorus. It’s got such an attitude behind it too. I love it”.
Tom Jones – It’s Not Unusual
“People neglect the fact that Tom Jones is a brilliant vocalist. But I’ll be honest, I can’t help but feel happy when I get this one. It’ll bring out the Carlton Banks in everyone”.
ABBA – Dancing Queen
“Another great pre-show song. If you don’t move when comes on, you’re a monster”.
Ima Robot – 12=3
“The world most perfect bass tone in a wonderful song by a criminally underrated band. This is just a genius track and a great one to blast before a set”.
