Playlist: British Summer Time with Kings Of Leon
Get pumped up for Kings Of Leon and friends at British Summer Time with our playlist.
Kings of Leon will be joined by Pixies and Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats at British Summer Time in London’s Hyde Park this year, so we’ve pulled together some of the best from each of the acts for this playlist.
Kings of Leon – Molly’s Chambers
We’re going right back to the very start for the first track in our selection. Molly’s Chambers was where success kicked off for Kings of Leon back in 2003. It’s taken from their debut full-length, Youth & Young Manhood.
Pixies – Debaser
This one’s not from the debut Pixies album, but Doolittle was the band’s first international release. Debaser has moved from strength to strength since, and offers that quintessential Pixies sound.
Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats – S.O.B.
Rateliff has been making music for some time, but joined up with The Night Sweats in 2013. S.O.B., taken from their debut self-titled album, has proven extremely successful. This video has over 24M views on YouTube.
Kings Of Leon – Around The World
So we’re jumping forward for this one, right up to the present day. Around The World is the latest Kings of Leon single, taken from this year’s WALLS album – their seventh.
Pixies – Um Chagga Lagga
And we’re doing the same with Pixies. Um Chagga Lagga is their most recent single, taken from this year’s Head Carrier. It’s their sixth studio album, and second since returning in 2014 with Indie Cindy.
Kings Of Leon – On Call
On Call, taken from their Because Of The Times album, was part of Kings of Leon’s massive evolution from country infused rockers to all out stadium and festival masters.
Pixies – Planet Of Sound
Their second most commercially successful song after Debaser, but perhaps not as well known, Planet Of Sound appeared on Pixies’ fourth studio album, Trompe le Monde.
Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats – Out On The Weekend
The most recent track by Rateliff and his Night Sweats, Out On The Weekend is taken from their A Little Something More From mini album and collection.
Kings Of Leon – Kings Of The Rodeo
Bet you were expecting us to close with Sex On Fire, right? Well, we’re trawling back to album No.2 (Aha Shake Heartbreak) for this one. Kings Of The Rodeo is a beautifully feel good anthem from days gone by.
Kings of Leon are one of three confirmed headliners to perform at the beautiful London location in June and July, alongside Phil Collins and Green Day. Tickets are on sale now through Ticketmaster.co.uk.
