One week to go: Everything you need to know about OnBlackheath

Next Saturday and Sunday, SE3 is being taken over by a whole host of live music acts, incredible food outlets and fun for the whole family when OnBlackheath comes to town.

OnBlackheath is now rolling into its third fantastic year, so if you fancy a trip south of the river for a fun-packed day (or two), here’s everything you need to know:

Who’s playing?

OnBlackheath’s line-up is a smorgasbord of live music heavyweights. Saturday is headlined by Primal Scream, while electrionic funksters Hot Chip and the inimitable Roisin Murphy help complete the bill. Sunday is championed by Mancunian heroes James and the legendary Squeeze, with plenty more talent throughout both days set to keep the crowd entertained as well.

What’s on the menu?

In partnership with the retailer, OnBlackheath will play host to the John Lewis Food Village to help satiate your hunger. Jam-packed with dining experiences, demonstrations, celebrity chefs, pop-up stalls and street food, it’s a feast of tastes and cuisines guaranteed to please any palate. Highlights include a fine dining banquet with internationally renowned chef Theo Randall, there’s free cooking lessons from the John Lewis cookery school, and street vendors across the weekend include Anna Mae’s Mac n Cheese, Burrito Boys, Le Ben and Popdogs.

Is it for families too?

In short, yes! Puffin Books will be hosting a family area at OnBlackheath called Puffin World of Stories, which takes the magic of well-loved children’s books and brings them to life in a fun, immersive zone for 2 – 12-year-olds. The full schedule includes stage performances, games, arts and crafts and tonnes of outdoor activities – plenty to keep the little ones entertained while you enjoy that well-earned prosecco and second portion of Mac N Cheese.

Where is it again?

Sited on Blackheath in South East London, OnBlackheath is easily connected by public transport – so it’s a doddle to get there (and actually, it’s a car-free zone, so really don’t drive!). It’s one of the capital’s most beautiful open spaces, and the expansive Heath reaches from the village to the edge of Greenwich Park.

How do I get tickets?

OnBlackheath is selling fast, so make sure you secure your tickets for one final weekend of festival fun this summer! Tickets are available now at Ticketmaster.co.uk, and include day and full weekend options – plus Chef’s Banquet upgrades!

Don’t miss out on this awesome weekend taking place next Saturday 10 September – Sunday 11 September.
