Mallory Knox cover Coldplay’s Yellow and we have goosebumps
Mallory Knox team up with mental health charity CALM to release a cover of the iconic Coldplay song.
On International Men’s day 2017, CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) launched Torch Songs – a campaign to celebrate the powers of music to help through tough times. “Everyone has moments when things get tough, but we all have a favourite track that can turn things around. A single song can change how you feel. That’s your Torch Song — it lights the way out of the dark”, CALM says.
Today alt-rock five-piece Mallory Knox teamed up with the charity and released their own Torch Song, a cover of Coldplay’s Yellow. Speaking about the track, frontman Mikey Chapman says: “Awareness and understanding are so crucial in the fight for mental health, when people understand they can begin to overcome. Much love to CALM for being a huge part in that. I’ve always loved the melancholic vibe of this song. To care so deeply about someone that your world is rooted in them, and the beauty and struggle that may cause. I don’t know if that’s the intent of the song but it’s how I feel when I hear it. I love when music can do that to you.”
