Jess Glynne adds another huge headline show
She'll also be performing at Darlington Arena on 2 August 2019.
Jess Glynne has announced another huge headline show, taking to Darlington Arena on Friday 2 August 2019. The news follows confirmation that she’ll also be performing at Singleton Park, Swansea on Sunday 28 July 2019 and Sandown Park, Esher on Thursday 8 August 2019.
The announcements follows the singer’s recently completed headline arena dates in support of her second album Always Inbetween. Her first single from this second album, I’ll Be There, was released on 4 May 2018 and reached No.1 in the UK Singles Chart. She has now achieved seven UK No.1 singles making her the first British female solo artist to do so.
Raised in Muswell Hill, London, Glynne rose to fame when she scored not one, but two No.1 singles as a featured artist on Clean Bandit’s Rather Be and Route’s 94 My Love in 2014. The song Rather Be won a Grammy in 2015 for Best Dance Recording.
Her first solo single, Right Here, was also released in 2014, and reached No.6 in the UK Singles Charts. It was the first single from her debut album, I Cry When I Laugh, released the following year. It peaked at the top spot in the UK Album Charts, and reached the top 10 in multiple countries including Italy, Australia, The Netherlands and Ireland.
The album features her other No.1 singles including Hold My Hand and Don’t Be So Hard on Yourself.
After a couple years out writing and creating her second studio album, she returned to the music charts earlier this year, featuring on Rudimental’s single These Days alongside Macklemore and Dan Caplen. After spending weeks on the chart at No.2 behind Drake’s God Plan, the song finally went to No.1 in March.
As well as winning the Grammy Award, she has been the winner of several other awards including at O2 Silver Clef Award and The A&R Award, and has scored a number of nominations for The Brit Awards, MTV Europe Music Awards and the BBC Music Awards.
The singer will also be supporting the Spice Girls on their 2019 UK stadium tour dates, as well as appearing at Camp Bestival and Kew The Music next summer.
