Iron Maiden world tour coming to the UK for 11 dates in 2017
Calling all Troopers! Get ready to rock out with one of the greatest heavy metal bands ever to exist. Iron Maiden have announced The Book of Souls world tour will continue in the new year.
Taking its name from the legendary band’s 2015 double studio album, which has been their most successful chart-wise, the tour opened in Florida last February and ran through early August. That first leg saw Maiden perform in 36 countries travelling via their new Boeing 747 jumbo jet dubbed – as on past tours – “Ed Force One” for their mascot Eddie and flown by vocalist Bruce Dickinson.
The UK leg of The Book of Souls world tour will begin on 4 May 2017 at Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena and stop off in a number of cities across the British Isles before finishing at The O2 in London.
“As it’s been so long since our last full UK arena tour, we really wanted to get to our fans in as many cities as possible,” said Iron Maiden founding member and bass player Steve Harris. “We’re really looking forward to it, especially visiting places we haven’t been to for a very long time, like Leeds where we haven’t played since 2005 and Liverpool where we haven’t played since 1990.”
In addition to enjoying the new Maya-themed Eddies and stage sets, Harris said that fans can expect to hear a mix of new songs from The Book of Souls album along with older hits.
