Hozier releases new album ahead of UK tour
The UK run includes a five night residency at the London Palladium.
Hozier has unveiled his sophomore album and follow-up to his 2014 self-titled debut, Wasteland, Baby!.
The record comprises fourteen tracks, opening with the previously released Nina Cried Power alongside the iconic Mavis Staples and Booker T. Jones. The title track of Hozier’s former EP, the song was also featured on Barack Obama’s favourite songs of 2018 playlist.
The record, which also features Dinner & Diatribes and Almost (Sweet Music) among its track-list, has been met with favourable reviews by Consequence of Sound, securing a five star rating by The Telegraph.
The release comes following Hozier’s announcement of a 14 headline UK dates, including five nights at the London Palladium.
The tour will kick off on Sunday 15 September 2019 in Birmingham, before ending with the London residency.
Hozier is perhaps best known for his five-time platinum 2014 hit Take Me To Church. He followed this up in 2016 with the single Cherry Wine, raising awareness of domestic violence, and another new song Better Love which appeared on the Legend of Tarzan soundtrack. Prior to this, he released two EPs, Take Me To Church in 2013, and From Eden in 2014 respectively.
His debut album has totalled over 2.1 billion streams on Spotify alone, selling over 4.4 million copies across the globe.
