The Horrors and Thurston Moore for The Fly Awards
The Horrors and Thurston Moore are to be honoured at the inaugural Fly Awards, which will be held early next year.
On the night, The Horrors will perform live and receive the Outstanding Artistry Award while Thurston Moore will pick up the Living Legend Award.
The awards ceremony marks the music magazine’s 15th anniversary and ‘looks to celebrate the innovators, risk-takers and true originals of modern music.’
Speaking of the awards, The Fly editor JJ Dunning said: “Very few bands of the last decade have evolved as significantly and as brilliantly as The Horrors. The Outstanding Artistry Award in association with War Child is designed to acknowledge their achievements to date.”
“Thurston’s work forms a touchstone of modern guitar music. He is a hero and an icon and we are honoured that he has agreed to appear at our ceremony and receive the Living Legend award.”
The Fly Awards ceremony takes place February 6 2014 at The Forum, London and tickets are on sale now.
