Homobloc set to return to Depot Mayfield on 6 December
Manchester's biggest queer party is back and louder than ever
It’s been a busy year for the brains behind Homobloc, with the team throwing events headlined by the likes of Romy and Princess Superstar, bringing proceedings at Manchester International Music Festival to a colourful close and taking the brand to Ibiza. Of course, for the triumphant return of Homobloc – a riotous celebration of all things LGBTQ+ and an outrageously good block party, now in its sixth iteration – the bar has been raised to even loftier heights.

On Saturday 6 December, Homobloc will be taking over the entirety of Depot Mayfield, turning the venue into a melting pot of live music, performance art and club culture. Sugababes, Honey Dijon, Slayyyter, and The Blessed Madonna are all set to headline, with DJ duties handled by Todd Edwards, Peaches, Erol Alkan, Roi Perez, Eliza Rose, Joshua James, Fat Tony, and Beth Ditto, to name but a few. Other highlights will include PXSSY PALACE, Jay Jay Revlon, UNIIQU3, and Che3kz, who has been building an intensely devoted following with her genre-blurring approach to rap.
The event will take place across the Depot’s three main stages as well as smaller stages The Plant Room and The Loft, the latter of which is a unique space located on the venue’s roof. However, the revelry won’t be confined to the Depot, with the famous Star and Garter Pub transforming into a sweaty homage to Berlin’s revered techno scene. There you’ll be able to catch performances from German beat-maker Only Fire, Manchester-based trans artist Jasmine.4.t, and a truly wild party thrown by Butch Revival.

There will also be more relaxed (but no less interesting) fare on offer for those needing respite from thunderous basslines and strobe lights. Over in Depot Mayfield’s Archive, South Asian, Middle Eastern and North African queer brown collective House Of Spice will bring their unique flavour alongside Manchester’s Desi LGBTQ+ collective Club Zindagi, as well as Homobloc favourites Ghetto Fabulous. The Line Dancing classes from Red Rodeo Club are also sure to be wildly popular, so make sure you get there early.
