Here’s some live classic rock highlights to look out for
It may be called classic, but it’s not going anywhere. With KISS tickets on sale today, we’ve looked through our forthcoming tours to find the biggest and best in classic rock.
Check out our recommended list of classic rock highlights below.
KISS
We’ll start with the big guns. KISS have announced four huge dates in May 2017, taking to Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester and London. Their headline set at Download two years back was a visual and audible spectacular, and we expect nothing else from their return to the UK. Tickets are on sale now.
Iron Maiden
Arena veterans and festival headliners Iron Maiden return to the UK in May 2017. It comes off the back of last year’s The Book of Souls, but fans can reasonably expect to hear some serious classics, such as Number Of The Beast and Run To The Hills. Tickets are on sale now.
Black Sabbath
The godfathers of metal announced that this is the last time they’ll be touring, so now is definitely the time to catch them live. The bittersweet carnage begins in Manchester on 22 January 2017, before heading off across the UK. Tickets are on sale now.
Thunder
Thunder have been delivering their blend of classic rock since 1989, following the end of the members’ former outfit Terraplane. The band released their tenth studio album last year, and are now preparing to kick off their tour in March 2017. Tickets are on sale now.
Clutch
Clutch sit on the very verges of classic rock, having formed in 1991. Not necessarily delivering the sound associated with the genre, they celebrate a huge crossover appeal. So much so that their Reading and Leeds Festival appearance this year was met with huge enthusiasm by the crowd. They are back on the road this month, with tickets on sale now.
Monster Truck
Classic rock doesn’t necessarily have to be old. Monster Truck continue the sound of their forefathers, despite having released their debut album in 2013. The Canadians reach the UK in March 2017. Tickets for the tour are on sale now.
Black Stone Cherry
Classic rock can be intimate too. Having already celebrated an on-stage engagement on their current trip to the UK, Black Stone Cherry are now playing a handful of stripped back shows. Currently running across the country, there are still dates in Bristol, London and Norwich to go. Remaining tickets are on sale now.
X Japan
X Japan have moved from power and speed metal, to huge power ballads with ease. Having released their first studio album back in 1988, the band celebrated a reunion back towards the end of the last decade. They now play the SSE Arena in London as part of their World Tour on 4 March 2017. Tickets are on sale now.
Blackberry Smoke
Mixing elements of gospel, bluegrass, arena rock, soul and more than a touch of outlaw country, Blackberry Smoke has earned a passionate fan base that continues to grow as the band itself evolves. The band is as blue collar as the bandanas its members wear. Their UK dates kick off in March 2017. Tickets are on sale now.
Aerosmith
The absolute beasts of classic rock headline Download 2017, marking part of their farewell tour. They’ve played the slot a few times, and every single one has been suitably spectacular. Tickets for Download Festival are on sale now.
